Today, Apple released the third developer preview of OS X El Capitan, which is another update of bug fixing and performance improvement. And one thing that really surprised me is how the Geekbench performance score went up after the update. Before in OS X Yosemite, the single core score is about 2600, and the multicore score is about 7800. And when I installed OS X El Capitan, the score went up to around 2800 for Single Core, and the score also increased to around 8000 for Multicore. In the second preview of OS X 10.11, the score dropped a bit and the computer kind of slowed down. But when I upgraded to the third preview of OS X El Capitan, there are a lot of bug fixes, and my computer went so much faster. And I'd like to show you the Geekbench score of OS X El Capitan Developer Preview 3.
This image is before the the update, it is the second developer preview. Not so high score since I am running on iMac 21.5 inch Mid 2011. And I just recently upgraded my memory from 4 GB to 16 GB, which kind of makes a huge difference. So anyway, here is the Geekbench score of my Mac running that the second preview of 10.11.
The image above is the second preview of OS X El Capitan. The image below is the score of the third developer preview of OS X 10.11. I tested three times, and one time, the score went up to 3300 and 8295. But I accidentally quit the app.
